YoCrunch Yogurt looks to connect with moms with their latest campaign.

YoCrunch Yogurt has launched a new campaign aimed at moms. Sadly I think this one missed the mark. First the Facebook page is very light on content. And moms love great content.

They’ve tried to get Moms to tell all of their “mom tested ideas”, but there has been very little response. It might have worked better if there was an incentive. And other than this, the only other content on Facebook is four -$1.00 off coupons. Definitely going to be a challenge to get…

Should Brands be using facial recognition to better target messages to you?

Well everyone knows moms do most of the shopping. After all, 83 million mothers control $2.5 trillion in annual spending driving the U.S. economy. Brands across the U.S. have been focusing much of their marketing dollars on mom in order to get a big piece of her wallet.

So what do you think about companies developing facial recognition technology that will allow them to dynamically serve up targeted information in stores to you?

Kraft and Adidas are just two brands looking into…

Brands have a big opportunity to connect with moms by using QR codes.

So moms are pretty tech savvy and 95% of moms never leave the house without their phones. Add to it that smartphone penetration is about 38% and moving steadily upward. Retailers are dialing up their efforts with mobile applications and their use of scannable codes. It only makes sense that QR codes will be adopted by moms who are quick to adapt technology that enhances their lives by saving them time or money. But like anything, moms like products and services that offer value like…

Meet Rene Syler, author of Good Enough Mother, and amazing role mother.

Will parents and teens buy the “anti-green movement” from BillMyParents?

Moms love useful tools and the new “Bill MY Parents” pre-paid MasterCard looks like one moms will love. BillMyParents was one of the companies debuting at Blogher11 this year with their Anti-Green Movement/Go plastic campaign. The card takes the best of technology and puts it at a parent’s fingertips for tracking your teens purchases. There’s no activation fee, no overdraft fees and it’s accepted at millions of locations worldwide. I know my children think I’m a human ATM…

Thoughts for brands on participating in Blogher.

1. Have your Blogher campaign idea start BEFORE the actual event. Create a campaign that starts engaging with the audience going to Blogher prior to the event and teases what will occur there.

2. Continue the campaign at Blogher.

3. Keep the engagement going post Blogher. The attendees will be looking forward to your first outreach for them.

4. Don’t send cold, form letters to all the blogger you met Blogher. Personalize your outreach. Never say “dear blogger.”

5….

The Marketing to Moms Coalition Back to School 2011 report is out.

So the Marketing to Moms Coalition just came out with their Back To School report for 2011. They surveyed about 1,270 moms with kids under 18 and included Spanish-speaking Hispanic moms. I was amazed to hear that moms were expecting to spend on average $409 (7-12 year olds) on back to school. It seemed very high for an average across the U.S. and considering the economy. But it’s totally understandable if a computer or other electronic purchase is being made. And the $409 is down…

Ragu has the secret sauce with their Mom’s The Word campaign.

I actually really like this Ragu “Moms The Word” campaign. There’s so much video content. And moms love video. And so much useful content. The moms are charming and full of great ideas all centered around the family dinner table from useful recipes like spaghetti tacos to tips to get your kids to eat. And last night there was a live chat discussion on Facebook and on Twitter with Audrey McClelland of MomGenerations and mom of 4 boys under the age of five.

And best of all, they…
