It’s DADuary and you just have to meet Dad of Divas!

It’s January and we’re starting off the year with a celebration of Dadhood and I’d like you to meet Christopher Lewis better knows as “Dad of Divas”. Over the course of the entire month I will be introducing you to a few of the amazing dads I’ve met.

Meet Chris, aka Dad of Divas.

Chris is a father of two girls (divas) who has “lost his kingdom” and is working every day to regain his footing in a world that is filled with everything from tiaras to makeup. He remains optimistic.
“While I do not think I will win this battle, I do work at it every way that I can! I have been married to my best friend for the past 14 years, and while we get on each other every now and again, overall we are very happy! The name for his blog, Dad of Divas came from his wife. She said “why not Dad of Divas as you will be a father of two girls very soon”.

Chris is a born and raised Michigander. And he sports a Doctorate! Outside of blogging (which seems like a second full time job) he has worked for the past 15 years in College Administration in the field of Student Affairs.

How did he first get into social media?
“I first got into blogging about four and a half years ago as a way of talking about my experiences as a father and to connect with other dads like myself. I knew another blogger and she encouraged me to try it out. I did, and soon I was hooked. My blog has gone through a number of iterations, but I still talk about fatherhood. I also run contests and review products as well which is fun as I love to give people my opinions! Blogging has become a second full time job which can sometimes be an issue as I do need to find ways to balance blogging with my first full time job as well, so much of my blogging occurs in the early morning hours!”

Do you work with brands on campaigns?

“I work with brands constantly. I see myself as an advocate for those brands that I work with and try to share some of the great news that they have for the benefit of my readers.”

I asked if Chris if he has seen a change from brands since he started blogging. He said, “I think so, as I have seen more and more brands that are interested in working with Dads. This has grown so much in the last 4 years, as I remember when I was one of the early Dads out on the net and you had to work hard to get the ear of brands, but now I find that they are very interested in hearing what I have to say. Also, I have noticed more and more brands using dads in their advertisements and that is great!

Dads make many decisions now and there is even a tide changing where more dads are staying at home with their kids as well which is making this even more the case. For me, my wife and I make decisions together as we see our finances as combined and thus any larger expenses are ones that we need to make together.”

If you’d like to read more of Chris’ thoughts on Dadhood, you can find his website at or follow Chris on twitter here.

And don’t forget to join the DADuary Twitter party on January 12th at 9pm! You’ll meet all kinds of fabulous Dads.
